Battlers Pick Up 9th Straight Victory, Run Past UPJ

(Johnstown, PA) -- The Alderson-Broaddus Men's Basketball team used a big run in the 2nd half to blow open a tied ballgame, on their way to their ninth straight victory, 89-72.

Jamar Board would led all scorers with 29 points, 23 of those would come in the 2nd frame as he connected on 9 of 17 three point attempts.   Mark Summerfield would add 25 points on 10 of 14 shooting as A-B improves to 9-2 Overall and 5-1 in the WVIAC.  Terrell Eargle continued his great all around play as he filled the stat line with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists.

Tied at 39 a piece at the break, A-B grabbed the lead for good using a 20-4 run over the opening 5:51 of the 2nd half. Carl Buck fueled the breakout run adding five points, two assists and a steal.

Board, 2nd Division II coming into the week in 3 pointers made per game, has now pushed his average to a nations best 5.3.

For the game the Battlers shot a scorching 50% (32-64) from the field and 47.2% (17-36) from behind the arc.  They also held a 40-27 advantage on the boards and a plus two turnover advantage.

A-B plays host to D&E on Monday.  Tip off is at 7:30 PM.
