UC's Fast Start Does In Lady Battlers 72-45

Philippi, WV -- The University of Charleston Lady Eagles outscored A-B 29-4 over the opening 10 minutes to seize control of the WVIAC battle tonight from Rex Pyles Arena. The run, which saw UC score the first 17 points of the game, was fueled by Lindsay Kentner's nine points as the Lady Eagles improved to 16-7 Overall and 13-5 in the WVIAC.

The Lady Battlers were led by Amanda Peoples 11 points, the lone player to reach double figures. Coach Allen's squad falls to 7-16 Overall and 5-13 in the WVIAC.

Charleston got a game high 19 points from Kentner, while Tarenna Dixon added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Alderson-Broaddus shot just 29% from the field compared to 51% for the visiting Eagles. Coach Sherry Winn's squad also held an advantage on the boards (42-29) and in turnovers (18-20).

The road gets no easier for the Lady Battlers as the return to action this Saturday at home taking on the WVIAC's top team, WV Wesleyan. Tip off is at 5:15.
