Box Score | Season To Date Stats

Glenville, WV --  The A-B Men's Basketball team overcame the scrappy Glenville State Pioneers on the road, 70-57, to improve 20-5 on the season and 16-4 in the WVIAC.  Carl Buck shook off the shooting slump of the rest of his teammates scoring a game high 19 points on 6 of 10 shooting.  Terrell Eargle and Mark Summerfield each added 10 points.

The Pioneers for a second time this season did an excellent job of defending A-B on the perimeter, holding them to below 40% shooting from the field in both contests.  Poor shooting didn't only affect the Battlers, as GSC's top scorers Aaron Dobson and Nick Dent were held to a combined 13 points on just 4 of 19 shooting.  Coach Stephen Dye's squad was paced by Gabe Gibbs' 16 points.  Glenville St. falls to 6-18 Overall and 5-14 in the WVIAC.

GSC would come out the gate firing on all cylinders as they would jump out to a 9-1 lead after six minutes.  Alderson-Broaddus then answered back with a 23 to 8 run that would give them the lead for good.

The Pioneers made things interesting the 2nd half as they used a 10-0 run to cut a 12 point deficit down to 2 points with 10:49 remaining.  However, A-B then countered with a 9-2 run to put things out of reach.

The Battlers return to action this Thursday as the play host to Wheeling Jesuit at 7:30pm.
