The Lady Falcons of Fairmont State got off to a vicious first half start and never looked back as A-B dropped a 48-77 decision Monday night at Rex Pyles Arena.

Fairmont State scored the opening bucket before Freshman Amanda Peoples connected on a Battler three to give them their first and last lead of the game at the 19:08 mark. Than Fairmont State took the game over and simply would pull this one out of reach from A-B as they would push their lead up to as many as 26.

The score would be 43-16 as Fairmont shot 54 percent from the field and their defense forced 16 first half A-B turnovers. The Lady Battlers connected on only seven field goals for 24 percent in the opening twenty minutes of action as it was simply just not their night.

The second half would be a more even battle as the Lady Battlers shot 11-15 from the line and they raised their shooting percentage to 33 percent but Fairmont still managed to outscore them by three to make the final score 77-48.

A-B was led in scoring by senior Tori Charley as she finished with nine. The Lady Falcons, who improved to 13-6 overall and 10-4 in the WVIAC, were led in scoring by Kaitlin Snyder with 18. Fairmont would put three players in double digit scoring as Lauren Streicher tallied 14 and Ashley Vavrak scored 12.

The Lady Battlers with the loss drop to 6-13 overall and 4-10 in the WVIAC.
