The Lady Battlers would have loved to go into the WVIAC tournament on a winning note but unfortunately for A-B the Lady Senators of Davis & Elkins College got in their way in a close 65-63 D&E victory.

It was a close game from the opening tipoff to the final whistle. It was so close that both teams went an identical 13-25 from the floor for 52 percent. The only difference in the first half in scoring was that the Lady Senators connected on more three pointer and one more free throw attempt as they held a slim 36-34 advantage at intermission.

The second half would result in both teams scoring 29 points as the Lady Battlers could never get the upper hand even after holding D&E to just 33 percent in the second half but the Lady Senators connected on 11 free throws to A-B's four to make the final score a 65-63 Lady Senator victory.

Alderson-Broaddus also held a very dominant hand in the rebounding department by a final margin of 45-27 lead by Freshman Amanda Peoples' 14. The Lady Battlers were paced in scoring by seniors Lauren Reed with 20 and Amanda Harris with 18. Harris lead the Battlers with eight assists on the evening who will open their conference tournament at Glenville State.

The last meeting between the two teams was a thriller as the Lady Battlers walked out of Rex Pyles Arena with the 88-82 upset victory.
