(Clarion, PA) --- The 19th ranked Gannon Golden Knights would use a 19-4 run to open the game and sieze control, never looking back on their way to a 81-42 victory over Alderson-Broaddus on the 2nd day of the Clarion Classic.
GU (5-0) shot a scorching 59% in the opening frame as they raced out to a 45-13 lead at intermission. The Lady Battlers hit on just 5 of 23 (21.7%) attempts from the field in the 1st half.
The Knights were paced by Brittany Tabron's game high 16 points and seven rebounds in just 19 minutes of action.
A-B, who struggled all night to get anything going offensively, would be led by Tori Charley's 10 points. Ciara Riggleman and Amanda Peoples each added seven points each.
The Battlers shot just 29.2% from the field, and had a minus 25 rebound deficit (48-23)
Alderson-Broaddus will return to action this weekend as they will travel to Montgomery, WV for the WVU-Tech Golden Bear Classic. A-B will take on Pikeville Friday at 8pm.
